Article #119: NS 153 w/ New York Central HU #1066 Salisbury, NC (March 1, 2026)
In this new article, we will be taking a look at NS 153 heading southbound by Salisbury, NC with the New York Central heritage unit 1066 along with fellow SD70ACe 1142. 153 runs between Linwood, NC and Irondale, AL going through places like Salisbury, Kannapolis, Charlotte and Belmont to name a few cities in NC. This heritage unit, like the majority of them came out in 2012. It is in the NYC lightning stripe paint scheme. The train went through around 9 p.m. where it went by the Amtrak station. It also goes through states like South Carolina and Georgia to name a couple. All of the units on the train this night were on northbound manifest 118 earlier in the day. 118 goes through cities like Greensboro, Thomasville and Lexington, NC before getting to Linwood, NC. SD70ACe 1142 trailing second. AC44C6M was one of two pushers on the rear of the train. D9-40CW 9855 was the second pusher on the rear of the train.
