In this new article, we will be taking a look at Southern Railway FP7 #6133 running on the passenger train at the NC Transportation Museum in Spencer back on May 16, 2026.
This locomotive was built in May of 1950 by EMD. It was included in a twenty unit order for the railroad. For twenty years it served the Southern running on both freight and passenger trains. Into the 1970's, this locomotive operated on excursion trains between Salisbury and Asheville, NC.
After it was retired, it arrived at Spencer and was donated to the museum in 1980. It has been a staple at the museum for a very long time.
