Article #115: NS 28R w/ AC44C6M 4817 + Mid Power (AC44C6M 4589 & SD70ACe 1077) Salisbury, NC (February 14, 2026)

 

In this new article, we will be taking a look at NS 28R heading northbound through Salisbury, NC back this past Saturday on February 14, 2026.

The lead locomotive was AC44C6M 4817. The train also had two locomotives in the middle which consisted of AC44C6M 4592 and SD70ACe 1077. This train originates at Inman Yard in Atlanta, GA and terminates in Rutherford, PA. 

This train usually has one or two locomotives on the head end, two in the middle and it usually has some auto racks on the rear.

This train usually goes through Salisbury, NC in the early afternoon hours. It is one of several intermodal trains that run through.
