Article #97: NS 135 w/ ET44AC 3657 + SD70M-2 2738 & D8-40CW 8384 Hickory, NC (September 29, 2017)

In this new article we will be taking a look at NS 135 heading through Hickory, NC westbound on September 29, 2017.

For a long time, run through trains on the Asheville District S-Line were a common sight. 135 was one of those trains. It originated at Linwood Yard near Spencer, NC and ran from Salisbury, NC to Asheville, NC. After getting to Asheville, the train ran to Knoxville, TN. 

The train currently originates in Asheville, NC and terminates in Knoxville. 

The three locomotives on the train were ET44AC 3657, SD70M-2 2738 and D8-40CW 8384. The train here in the picture is approaching the signal at milepost S56.7.
