Article #83: NS P60 Power w/ SD60E 6995 & ES40DC 7544 Oyama Yard Hickory, NC (November 20, 2024)

 

In this new article we will be taking a look at the power for NS P60 sitting at Oyama Yard in Hickory, NC back on November 20, 2024. The two locomotives were SD60E 6995 and ES40DC 7544.

 P60 runs six days a week where it originates at Oyama Yard in Hickory, NC departing between 5:30 om and 6 pm and makes a turn at Salisbury, NC. It returns to Oyama around midnight. 

At the time of this photograph, it had only been over a month since P60 was rerouted. Before Hurricane Helene, P60 was originating in Asheville, NC and making a turn at Oyama before returning to Asheville westbound. After the hurricane, P60 started originating at Oyama and making the turn at Salisbury.
