Article #78: NS 135/ D9-40CW's 9526, 9217 & 9763 East Oyama Yard Hickory, NC (April 28, 2014)

 

In this new article we are taking a look at NS 135 westbound manifest by the east end of Oyama Yard in Hickory, NC back on April 28, 2014. The train this day had three D9-40CW's (9526, 9217 & 9763) for power. 135 back then ran between Salisbury, NC and Asheville. NC on the Asheville District where it originated near Spencer, NC and terminated at Knoxville, Tennessee. It is meeting local train P60 which is on the yard lead track. These D9-40CW locomotives were very common on a good number of trains, but especially on this particular train.
