Article #72: NS 135 w/ SD70ACe 1002, ES44AC 8096 & ES40DC 7604 Hickory, NC (July 20, 2019)

 

In this new article, we take a look at NS 135 going by Hickory, NC on Jult 20, 2019. The three locomotives on the train this day were SD70ACe 1002, ES44AC 8096 and ES40DC 7604. The train is approaching the signal at milepost S56.7 on it's way to Asheville and beyond to Knoxville, TN. The train around this time was going through Hickory, NC in the early evening hours like 6 and 7 pm departing Salisbury around 4 pm or shortly after. All of these loconotive types were very common on this train over the years that it ran from Salisbury to Asheville. 1002 is an early SD70ACe since it was the third one in the order of SD70ACe's.
