Article #46: NS P71 w/ GP38-2's 5284 & 5261 Caldwell County Railroad Yard Hickory, NC (November 12, 2019)

 

In this new article we get a look at NS P71 at the Caldwell County Railroad yard in Hickory, NC back on November 12, 2019. The two locomotives were GP38-2's 5284 & 5261. 5284 is a former Penn Central and Conrail locomotive and 5261 is a former Southern Railway locomotive that has been rebuilt. P71 switches this yard once or twice a week to pick up empty cars that the CWCY has finished using. Also in the corner of the photo there is a Seaboard System Tractor Trailer as well. 

Here we see some of the covered hoppers in the yard.
