Article #20: NS P71 w/ GP38-2 5646 + 3 Cars Downtown Hickory NC (July 24, 2023)

 

In this article we take a look at NS P71 back on July 24, 2023. Here we see the train heading eastbound through Downtown Hickory, NC heading back towards Oyama Yard from the interchange with the Caldwell County Railroad where they picked up some cars from that yard. Every now and then, P71 goes into the CWCY yard and picks up cars. GP38-2 5646 was the lead and only locomotive with three cars.
