Article #10: NS P71 w/ GP38-3 5806 Longview, NC (January 7, 2020)

 

In this new article we are looking at NS P71 back in January of 2020. In the photo above the train is switching an industry in Longview, NC pulling a string of boxcars. P71 runs on the Asheville District S-Line between Oyama Yard and Morganton, NC. On that day, GP38-3's 5806 and 5837 ran the train.

5837 trailing second as they pull out of the lead track to the industry.

Here is a look at the train heading towards the mainline. There is one cement hopper on the mainline.
