Article #5: NS 135 Hickory, NC w/ BNSF D9-44CW 4198 + D9-44CW's 9856 & 9443 (April 8, 2018)

 

In this new article on the blog, we are taking a look at a train seen on April 8, 2018. It was NS 135 westbound through Hickory, NC and the lashup consisted of BNSF D9-44CW 4198 and two NS D9-40CW's and those were 9856 and 9443. Here, the train is getting ready to pass the signal at Milepost 56.7 right before getting into Downtown Hickory. When 135 had foreign power back then, BNSF locomotives would be on the train from time to time. Also, the other run through trains that ran on the line back then would also have these locomotives every so often.
