Article #4: NS 135 Downtown Hickory, NC w/ UP 5574 + UP SD70AH 8992 & D9-40CW 9534 (March 8, 2019)

 

In this new article we are looking at a train that was seen back on March 8, 2019. It was NS 135 westbound through Hickory, NC heading towards Asheville, NC with a 3 unit lashup. The lashup consisted of Union Pacific locomotives 5574 (AC44CW) and 8892 (SD70AH) as well as NS 9534. When 135 ran from Salisbury to Asheville, it would have foreign power every so often like it did here. When it had foreign power, UP power would be most common, but sometimes there would be CSX or BNSF locomotives on the train as well. 

SD70AH 8892 was the second locomotive on the train.
